Wedding Vow Coaching

Wedding vow coaching supports you in writing wedding vows that are authentic, creative, and unique. If the ceremony is the heart and soul of your wedding day, then your vows are the heart and soul of your ceremony, and it is worth to put in the time to make those vows feel perfectly you and perfectly beautiful. It’s one thing to feel all the deep feelings about our partners and our commitment, but trying to get those feelings on paper is something else entirely. Or…some of us might have no problem getting feelings down on paper but it’s still hard to know where begin, and the more verbose among us might end up with pages and pages and pages. (Tip: That is too much.)

Vow Coaching

I hear all the following questions and more from my couples:

What do I write about?
How long should my vows be?
Should I follow a format?
What if my vows don’t match my partner’s?
Do I have to memorize my vows?
Do my vows need to be all unicorns and rainbows?
Can I mention the hard times?
Do I have to promise? Must I honor and obey?

It’s become clear that some of you could really use some wedding vow coaching — the support of third party who can guide you through the process of writing heartfelt wedding vows so that you feel confident and exuberant about sharing them with your partner on your wedding day. To meet this need, I have created a couple different vow coaching offerings:

If you’re in the “I just need a worksheet to follow” camp, you might be best served by my “Not Your Mama’s Wedding Vows: A Step By Step Framework For Writing Your Perfect Wedding Vows” available for purchase at Owl & Rose Ceremonies on Etsy. I wrote this “how to” guide with my rock-star ceremonialist bestie, and it provides you with a practical and inspiring framework for writing absolutely beautiful wedding vows.

If you’re in the “a worksheet sounds great but I need some hand-holding too” camp, then please contact me about vow coaching. I will take the time to get to know you as a couple, we will work through the above document together, I will help you find your words if that is a struggle, and I will give you that second pair of eyes that can be so helpful. I’ll poke and prod, push and pull, edit and re-edit until your vows feel perfect.

I don’t think I can tell you how profound this experience has been. I thought that getting some promises on paper was impactful, but choosing words to describe my relationship with [my partner] and what he brings to my life has been powerful beyond what I imagined. Thanks for sharing your vow wisdom and the push to dig a bit deeper. -Future Bride
